A great way to honor World AIDS Day December 1 is to surf to
Light To Unite where you can light a virtual candle. For each candle lit through December 31, Bristol-Myers Squibb will contribute $1 to the National AIDS fund (up to $100,000). This takes like 2 seconds so please do your part.

YULE LOG FOR IPOD

OK, hopefully, everyone out there knows about the unbelievable joy of watching the TELEVISED YULE LOG during the holidays. . . but if you don't, here's the quick backstory.



--On Christmas or Christmas Eve, a select group of channels all over the country get rid of their programming, and just show a video of a Yule log burning in a fireplace, while Christmas music plays in the background. It's COMPLETELY mesmerizing.



--I always thought I was the only person who loved the Yule log. . . but that couldn't be MORE WRONG. Apparently, the Yule log has a HUGE following.



--So huge that the people who created the Yule log video, WPIX in New York City, have created a new DOCUMENTARY about the history of the televised Yule log!!!

--The documentary, called "The WPIX Yule Log: A Log's Life", debuts on WPIX in New York on December 23rd at 7:00 P.M. There's no word on if or how it's gonna make it around to the rest of the country. (New York Daily News)

The Text Message of Death for K-Fed

PHIL COLLINS still has the record for the ALL-TIME COLDEST CELEBRITY BREAK-UP. . . for ditching one of his wives via FAX.


But BRITNEY SPEARS came pretty close when she gave KEVIN FEDERLINE the boot via TEXT MESSAGE. . . and what makes it seem that much harsher is that we've got VIDEO of your man K-Fed getting the message.

Kevin was in Canada on Monday, being filmed for some TV show up there, when the message came through on his BlackBerry. Kevin became visibly upset, removed his microphone and left for about 30 minutes.


When he returned to finish filming, his mood was pretty sour.

The TEXT MESSAGE OF DOOM doesn't come through until about a minute and a half into the clip. . . but before that, you can hear Kevin calling Britney his NUMBER ONE FAN, and saying they're gonna TAKE OVER THE WORLD together.

A Bob Barker Salute....

82-year-old BOB BARKER. . . who announced yesterday that he's RETIRING from "The Price Is Right" after 35 years as host.

Barker. . . who's been in the TV business for 50 years. . . is hanging it up in June. He says, quote, "I will be 83 years old on December 12th and I've decided to retire while I'm still young.

"I've gone on and on and on to this ancient age because I've enjoyed it. I've thoroughly enjoyed it and I'm going to miss it."

When asked if he has any plans for his final moment as the host of "The Price Is Right", Barker said he'll sign off the same way he always does. . . quote: "Help control the pet population. Have your pets spayed or neutered."
