Chubboliciously Good News

A new "Twinkies Cookbook" has recipes for everything from a Twinkie Burrito to Twinkie Lasagna. Theresa Cogswell compiled about 50 recipes for the book. Many were submitted to Hostess, as part of Twinkies' 75th anniversary celebration last year. Cogswell that one of her favorites is a berry-laden Patriotic Twinkie Pie. It's red, white and blue.

In other sticky, gooey news ...
A Massachusetts lawmaker is trying to get himself out of a sticky situation by dropping his opposition to Marshmallow Fluff. An amendment proposed by Sen. Jarrett Barrios to limit the availability of Fluff in schools sparked impassioned defense of the marshmallow spread, a lunch box staple of children for generations. The proposal was panned on talk radio, and another lawmaker even suggested legislation to make the Fluffernutter -- a Fluff and peanut butter sandwich -- the official state sandwich. A spokesman for Barrios said the lawmaker was abandoning the proposed amendment to the school nutrition bill. Barrios originally proposed the limitation after he learned his third-grade son was given a Fluffernutter as his school lunch.

Britney Spears - who in an interview with Matt Lauer claimed to be tired of the media attention and just wants to be left alone -- has generated some new buzz with her photo on the August issue of Harper's Bazaar. In the photo she's nude, pregnant, and sporting her newly-dyed hair. Photographers were taken by surprise by the hair color since they were planning a Brigitte Bardot-themed shoot. Perhaps she wanted to go with the Demi Moore theme instead.

Crap Stars Buy .. .

When you have more money than brains....errr... I mean than you know what to do with.. nevermind the homeless population or the AIDS crisis...

MICK FLEETWOOD (from Fleetwood Mac for you youngins) estimated he'd spent $8 MILLION on cocaine ov the years.

Between 1996 and 1997, ELTON JOHN spent $419,000 on flowers.

WILL and JADA PINKETT SMITH spend $2,500 a month on therapy. . . for their FOUR ROTTWEILERS (seems reasonable to me but ..). But at least they're getting the best money can buy. Their dog therapist is CESAR MILLAN. . . a.k.a. "The Dog Whisperer".

BRITNEY SPEARS gets her hair cut with custom-made scissors imported from Japan. They cost $3,000.

The sad man once known as David Lee Roth

David Lee Roth appears on a new tribute album called "Strummin' with the Devil: The Southern Side of Van Halen". . . in which a bunch of bluegrass artists serve up their takes on the Van Halen catalog. (--It hit record stores on Tuesday.)

"Jump" is one of the two tracks on the album that Roth himself sings. The other is "Jamie's Cryin'".

--Roth explains in the liner notes, quote, "My roots were always kind of country. . . not the same country as my first band. Their flag had windmills. Mine had a BBQ pit and a shot glass."

Pants Off! Dance Off!

JODIE SWEETIN, who played sweet, innocent Stephanie, will be hosting a show on the Fuse Network called, "Pants-Off Dance-Off". In 2005, she admitted to the public that she battled a meth addiction for two years. The premise of the show is simple: people of all ages. . . (--but hopefully not TOO old. . .???). . . taking off their clothes to their favorite music video.
